QUALITIES OF HONOURABLE GYUNKA
A man who is aware of the risk attached to every decision but yet takes it for the benefit of his people is a true leader. Gyunka in his words said, "There is a difference between those who talk about change and those who make change to happen”. I want to be remembered as a servant of the people who tried, in spite of numerous obstacles to bring change one step forward to greatness; greatness not for an individual but for the entire constituency” Below are undeniable qualities of this man Gyunka. He has courage To start and be counted on any matter he does not play hide and seek, he identifies with his position and feet into it, he is a daring leader, he work hard to break new grounds even where angels fear to tread, he is not afraid to speak up his mind in a meeting, if that will bring honour to his constituency.
He is Visionary
He sees beyond his now. He dreams a lot but turns these dreams into vision which he motivates others to share and buy into. His ideas look revolutionary because he sees beyond the present, far into the future. He also intuitively develops strategies for translating his vision into reality. He realized the power of motivation is a tonic to greater and better performance.
Hon. Gyunka is Sagacious
He exudes sagacity which is Godly wisdom in all aspect that is why when he speaks people listen. His opinions are heard and respected even in the house of Assembly not because he is a member of the house and a leader of his constituency, but because what he says is unsalable and borne out of wisdom. He deals with delicate matters which are potentially explosive with wisdom; wisdom makes him say the right thing at the right time. His first wisdom was exhibited when he saw the need to improve the power of electricity in Akwanga Local Government Area, then to discipline true leaders who will take after him, inter alia...Many of his achievement in life is traceable to his sagacity which is an attribute of a good leader who would have his name written in GOLD and have his legacies out live him.
He is a dynamic leader
This is one attitude that endeared Gyunka to all and sundry. He mixed freely and easily with both lowly and highly placed in the society, he likes to call people by their names to establish good rapport with them. With time his profile began to rise and he became at home with very highly place in government, corporate world, many individual and his immediate constituency.
He is an Encourager
He motivates people whom he leads to achieve, he provides platforms for them to climb to the top thereby reproducing himself several times over, and the hallmark of a good leader is that he inspires others to perform. He encouraged many students in pursuit of higher academic levels both in his immediate constituency and beyond so they could be like him. Many have indeed not only become like him but occupy very sensitive positions and are possibly better placed in the society today He enjoys seeing those whom he brought up doing well in their chosen careers.
He does not procrastinate
He is aware that procrastination is a thief of time. He is always very prompt to taking decisions, what can be done today should not be left for tomorrow. Gyunka is endowed with a very sharp memory, he does not forget or pretend even the minutest details, no matter how long ago an incident or a matter that needed attention has been.
He is Humorous and Accomplished
A little dose of humor with a speech always gives Gyunka a veritable opportunity to lighten the atmosphere and cool frayed nerves where necessary.
Gyunka’s Focus
The truth is, sacrifices must be made for advancement, and only a leader with vision will be able to see that, Gyunka has seen it and has adopted it as part of his life because he believe that in life, someone must be blamed in history when things go wrong. Doing nothing is not an option, this understanding made him take a step to present a proposal that will salvage his constituency. His proposals centered on these three cores; Health, Education and empowerment
Health
He proposed to provide access to quality, affordable health care to the well-being of his constituency, by addressing the needs of his people, to strengthen the Medicare system by providing adequate medical facilities and quality drugs for all the primary health care in his constituency. He is committed to his constituency across-the-board prevention initiative.
Education
Gyunka sees education as the cornerstone that will build the younger generation and ensure the existence of the future leaders, he is very conscious of the years after his existence on earth. He proposed to help provide conducive environment of learning, to make available some vital materials needed for learning in his constituency and to give assistance to the less privilege to have education.
Empowerment and scholarships
This is an area of strength and better Partnership. Gyunka understood his local community well including their needs and aspirations. His partnership and ability to work with people made it possible for various groups to be formed that will involve the participation of the entire constituency. The groups are:
• The GYUNKA’S MOTHERS OF THE NATION (GMN) this group of women will serve as his mothers. They will stand in the gap to identify areas of pressing need of women in the community and ensure delivery of the dividend of democracy to the constituency.

Hon. Philip Aruwa Gyunka’s Message to His Constituency
Dear readers, take some time to appraise this man, see the potentials that God has deposited in him, he has resolved to utilize them for the good of his constituency.Read his mind and manifesto.“We are the trade union for pensioners and children, the trade union for the disabled and the sick... the trade union for the constituencies we all represent in the house and the nation as a whole.” – Hon. Philip Aruwa Gyunka to his fellow Members
To His Constituency
My dear people of Akwanga South Constituency, I humbly present myself as sacrifice to impact a lasting service of humility, change and unity, to improve the general standard of living and make our constituency an enviable place in Akwanga and Nasarawa State.I am not ignorant of our needs and efforts to combat poverty for sustainable living and to develop this constituency that has been in dire need for decades now. Support my moves to revolutionize and present true dividend of democracy in representation. I will realize our visions and dreams through dedication, commitment, accountability and the fear of God.
Hon. Gyunka: The Heart beat of the People
“Nothing is easier than saying words. Nothing is harder than living them day after day and he who has done his best for his own time has lived for all times” If my words and promises are not translated to action, then I have not lived today, until I have done something for someone who can never repay me.I do not have a magic wand in my hands to perform miracles because I cannot pretend to present the ultimate solution to the problems of the [my people], but my actions will be truthful, transparent and accountable to you on [our] resources and allocation. I singularly believe that a man of less promises with more action, is the man with the heart for his people and can represent you.In my selfless service to my people, I am out to establish good relationship with a focus on competence and change. Responsibility and commitment will be a guide for me as I work to salvage the situation in my [state] and set it on the path of greatness. The selfless service made already that your eyes have seen is just the tip of the eye berg, I am committed to do more, to establish good relationship with a focus on management, competence and change to make our [our State] the envy of all if possible in Nigeria. Responsibility and commitment will be a guide to me as I work.
Hon. Gyunka’s Reality to life
I believe that emphasizing life changes requires information and more application. I believe that quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere efforts, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents a wise choice of many alternatives. Doing the same thing over and over, yet expecting different results is the definition of CRAZY. Once we rid ourselves of traditional thinking we can get on with creating the future.
Hon. Gyunka
Now I am making a promise. I am aware that you are tired of empty promises but it is a promise of devotion and commitment to you, people of [Nasarawa State], to put you first in all my dealings if elected. I will work towards a perfect union founded on transparency, peace, equity, stability and to ensure great success in our developmental projects, youth empowerment, participation and quality education for all to secure our future. No doubt, I know my coming to the office was by providence, by God divine calling and your mandate; I am ready to give an outward expression to the inner urge to serve humanity. One thing I know is that, I am determined because my eye is always fixes on the big chance for change, for growth, for economic and infrastructural development and advancement of my [people]. I have embraced the liberal interpretation of true unity across the borders of religious differences in [our state] and beyond. I believe in man’s natural goodness and the power of human reasoning. My quest is to find a common ground for all, by establishing an institution of unity to protect every citizen and the proper utilization of indigenous manpower of the [state] for the benefit of all.
Hon. Gyunka’s Perception about life
The length of life, as we live it, is neither its duration nor its longevity. It is rather the push of a life forward to its personal welfare. The breadth of a life is outward concern for welfare of others. The height of a life is the upward reach toward God. These are the three dimensions of life without which life is not complete. Life at its best is a great triangle. At one angle stands the individual persons, at the other angle stands other persons and at the top stands God. Unless these three concentrate, working harmoniously together in a single life, that life is incomplete. Those alone made me take a task to be active in the movement for change. I therefore, would rather change the course of history and the force of destiny than sit down and do nothing.I feel very privileged to have been part of the experience of the struggle for progress, development and unity of purpose with a sense of dignity to restore and rename the importance of having a representation of the people to the House. I want you to know that if I was not born, these stages taken toward a better [Nasarawa State] would come to pass, I just happen to be here. You know there comes a time when time itself is ready for change. That time has come for us and we will move in the direction of change to make it happen. Anything less than total commitment to the movement would be tantamount to a lack of moral courage to commit me to the struggle, to transform my crucial shift to consolidation and love for all- whatever the consequence. Hon. Gyunka is seeing beyond Personal fulfillment History has thrust upon our generation an indescribably important destiny-to complete a process of democratization which our nation has developed slowly, but which is our most powerful weapon for national respect and emulation. How we deal with this crucial situation will determine our moral health as individuals, our cultural and religious health as people, and political health as a region and our prestige as leaders in Nigeria. We will become true parents and leaders if our aspiration and struggle for true representation is done with a focus to liberate the future of our children and grandchildren not for greed and selfishness. Beyond personal fulfillment, I discover there are those who write history and there are those who make history. There are those who experience history... we are certainly experiencing history. And we will make possible for historians of the future to write a marvelous chapter. Using your right wisely, make your vote your commitment and we will make our dreams and expectations a reality.
Facts about Good Representation
A noiseless course, not meddling with the affairs of others, unattractive of notice, is a mark that society is happy if we can prevent the government from wasting the labours of the people under the pretence of taking care of them, they must become happy. This, I hope will be my moment of full delivery of democratic dividend and not experiments, my basis will still continue in principles of honesty. For I believe that, the whole art of true representation consists in the art of being honest.
“My wish is that the public funds may be directed honestly to the public good, peace be cultivated, law and order preserved and equality of rights maintained. I believe every representative should be judged by how well it meets its legitimate objectives. I am aware over time that, Good representative is that which most effectively secures the rights of the people and the fruits of their labour, promotes their happiness, and does their will. The care of human life and happiness and not their destruction is the first and only legitimate objective of good representative. My objective in this capacity is to secure the greatest degree of happiness possible to the people of my constituency, for them to have full improvement of their condition, happiness and prosperity.
I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do for my constituency or any kindness and sacrifice in service that I can show, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.
My dear people I came on this stage by divine arrangement and your mandate, I have come this far because of your support and prayers, I want you to know that I am one of you and will not let you down... have the assurances of my promises to keep your hope alive.
